We'd like to give a quick shout out to http://delootlondon.co.uk/ this organisation are creating a huge database of every shop or business affected by the riots in order to keep them open by channeling volunteers and other resources into each area. If you know anyone directly affected please get in contact as they could be a life line to someone in need.

Rain Rain go Away

So it's grey skies all around, thank-you to everyone for braving the rain. Stories to follow shortly but off to shoot some more people so for now I leave you some juicy morsels of who we found.

Mid Week Treat

Love your locals! It continuously surprises me how happy people are walking down Rye Lane. It's never a chore especially if you bump into the lovely Kore and Sarah (below). Joining this project has resulted in really getting to know my local community, and being able to put names to the smiling faces is priceless.  

Release your Wall

Got a wall you'd like to liven up? Donate it to our community paste up day. We need walls around Rye Lane to host our images. Once up there is no guarantee how long they will last but they are by no means permanent . We are looking for interesting, unusual and visually arresting spaces so please contact us if you have a wall you'd like to release. Our dream locations...Entrance to the cinema

We had a great meeting this evening with Peckham Shed and Peckham Settlement, there are lots of ideas bouncing around for new projects and Peckham Shed would love to hear your thoughts on the Peace Wall and what to do with it after it leaves Poundland.

Introducing

We are really excited to be working with local photographer Tom Pande. A super talented designer, photographer and bike enthusiast, Tom has been a pleasure to work with and has a great way of getting people on the street to relax and talk to us. He has a couple of shows coming up so look out for his other work as well as the pasting up in Peckham.

More about the project...

INSIDE OUT...is a global art project allowing people all over the world to use photographic portraits to tell their stories in the streets. Black and white images are made into posters, pasted in public to encourage community dialogue and archived online for the world to see: www.insideoutproject.net 

INSIDE OUT London is starting in Peckham...a neighbourhood that was hit hard by the recent riots.This project will showcase to the world who the Peckham community truly is. There are countless stories of local residents who have acted as heroes in the face of what happened. It is this pride for our community that makes us want to shift the conversation to who we really are so that together, we can start to rebuild.

The gathering of these stories and images has begun. On Saturday August 27th, Peckham will come together to paste these portraits in the streets and celebrate the strength, resilience and bond that the community now shares.
